What to expect on the day…

We want your chimney sweep to be as smooth and stress-free as possible. Here’s a quick guide:

Before We Arrive

  • Please don’t use your fire or stove for at least 24 hours before your appointment.

  • Clear the area around your fireplace of ornaments, logs, and furniture.

  • Keep pets and children away from the work area for safety.

During the Sweep

  • We’ll put down protective sheets to keep your home clean.

  • We will undertake a visual inspection of the appliance, the chimney stack and termination (the pot).

  • The sweep usually takes around 40–60 minutes (depending on the size and condition of the chimney). We use power sweeping or manual brushes depending on the flue.

  • If we spot any problems, we’ll let you know straight away. Minor repairs can be carried out (with the owner’s permission) for a small charge. Other repairs may require a second visit if specific parts are needed - again we will discuss this with you before we undertake any repairs.

After the Sweep

  • You’ll receive a Certificate of Sweeping, which may be required by your home insurer.

  • Payment is due on the day (we accept cash/bank transfer/and we can take card payments).

Cancellations

  • If you need to cancel or reschedule, please let us know at least 24 hours in advance.
